日本の気候はどんな感じ？
There are four seasons in Japan.
日本には四季があるんだよ。
They are spring, summer, fall, and winter.
それらは春夏秋冬だよ。
Wow! We can see the snow in Japan!
ワォ！日本では雪が見れるんだ！
Yes, it usually snows during the winter season.
そうだよ。冬には雪が降るんだ。
桜 (Cherry blossom)
When we can see the cherry blossom?
桜が見られるのはいつ？
Cherry blossom blooms there in spring.
桜は春に咲くんだ。
It usually blooms from the end of March to the beginning of April
桜は３月の終わりから４月上旬ぐらいに咲くんだよ。
The blooming period is only for a very short one to two weeks.
咲く期間はとても短くて、1~2週間しかないんだ。

花見 (Hanami)
People enjoy a picnic under the cherry trees in full bloom.
人々は満開の桜の木の下でピクニックするんだ。
They get together with family, friends, or co-workers
家族や友人、同僚たちと集って

桜を見ながら食べたり飲んだりを楽しむんだよ。
It says enjoying cherry blossoms is an old Japanese tradition.

That is called “KIMONO”.
あれは「着物」と呼ばれているんだよ。
They don’t wear kimonos in daily life anymore.
今では日常的に着物を着ることないんだけどね。
They wear Kimonos for special occasions such as ceremonies or “MATSURI”.
着物を着るのは特別な行事とか「祭り」とかの時だけなんだ。
Matsuri? What is that?
“まつり”？ それって何？
祭り (Matsuri)
Matsuri is a Japanese traditional festival.
まつりは日本の伝統的なお祭りのことだよ。
It is usually held in summer.
通常夏に行われるんだ。
There are a lot of food and game stalls at the festival.
まつりには沢山の食べ物とかゲームとかの屋台が出てるんだよ。
You can enjoy Japanese traditional street foods!

浴衣 (Yukata)
They like to wear “YUKATA” on Matsuri.
彼らはまつりには「浴衣」を着るのが好きなんだよ。

A Yukata is a casual kimono for the summer season.
浴衣は夏の季節に着るカジュアルな着物だよ。

スポーツ (Sports)
What are their popular sports in Japan?
日本で人気のスポーツって何？
I guess popular sports in Japan are baseball, football, and combat sports.
日本で人気のスポーツは、野球、サッカー、格闘技かな。
Sumo, judo, and karate are traditional Japanese sports.
相撲、柔道、空手が日本の伝統的なスポーツなんだ。
Sumo is a very interesting sport.
相撲はとても興味深いスポーツだよね。
和食 (Japanese Food)
I really love to try their cuisine.
彼らの料理を食べてみたいよね。
They are primarily fish eaters.
彼らは魚をよく食べるんだよ。
There are boiled or simmered fish, grilled fish, and raw fish.
煮魚や焼き魚、生食などがあってね。
Japanese fish dishes are rich in variety,
