“There is/are”の英語フレーズ

「～がある」という存在を表すことができます。
in,onなどの前置詞と組み合わせ、「・・・に～がある」という表現が作れます。

文の構造は”be動詞”と同じで、単数の場合は”is”、複数の場合は”are”を使います。

単数There is a letter on the desk.	机の上に手紙があります。
単数There is a dog in the park.	公園に犬がいます。
複数There are twenty students in this classroom.	クラスルームに20人の生徒がいます。
複数There are lots of cars in the car park.	駐車場にたくさんの車があります。

There are any friends in U.S.A.	アメリカには一人も友達はいません。
There is not a cat in the garden.	庭には猫はいません。
There is not any juice in the fridge.	冷蔵庫にジュースはありません。

Is there supermarket near here?	この近くにスーパーはありますか？
Yes, there are.	はい、あります。
